Double Take!

Double-Taker (Snout)
This installation consisted of a large robot arm with an eye attached to the end of the arm on the roof of the Pittsburgh Center For The Arts building. The concept of this installation was to study the interaction between the robot arm and people passing by when eye contact was made. The robot arm responded to movement and it's unblinking gaze followed them wherever they went. The creators wanted to elicit the belief that each one of us has something unique about themselves as the robot simulated a  "rubberneck" or "double-take" at the people who visited the museum.
